Dr. Schuyler Quackenbush founded Audio Research Labs in 2002, where he was CEO and principal consultant through 2024. Dr. Quackenbush has now retired from Audio Research Labs activities.

Dr. Quackenbush brings years of experience in research and technology development, including
- More than 20 years as founder and CEO of ARL
- More than 2 years as founder and Vice President of Audio Technology at Lightspeed Audio Labs
- More than 15 years as Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories
- Nearly 30 years of participating in ISO/IEC standardization and more than 25 years as Chair of the MPEG Audio Subgroup and now Convenor of WG6 MPEG Audio Coding (see MPEG).
- Extensive experience as a patent expert witness, but now retired from that activity
- More than 10 years teaching experience at the graduate level

Teaching at NYU
Dr. Schuyler Quackenbush has been a professor at New York University Steinhardt School, Department of Music Technology for more than 5 years. At NYU he teaches two graduate-level courses (see NYU).
